2017: Wishlist Wednesday (1)

So there hasn't really been any weekly Wishlist Wednesday or Waiting on Wednesday posts or memes or whatever, but I felt like I would just continue it on my own. Or maybe start something up if I can ever convince myself to be more consistent here. In any case, here's the book I'm most excited for at the moment!

Author: Alexandra Bracken
Book Genre: Middle Grade Fantasy
Release Date: September 5th, 2017
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion

Goodreads Synopsis:

"I would say it's a pleasure to meet thee, Prosperity Oceanus Redding, but truly, I only anticipate the delights of destroying thy happiness."
Prosper is the only unexceptional Redding in his old and storied family history - that is, until he discovers the demon living inside him. Turns out Prosper's great-great-great-great-great-something grandfather made - and then broke - a contract with a malefactor, a demon who exchanges fortune for eternal servitude. And, weirdly enough, four-thousand-year-old Alastor isn't exactly the forgiving type.
The fiend has reawakened with one purpose - to destroy the family whose success he ensured and who then betrayed him. With only days to break the curse and banish Alastor back to the demon realm, Prosper is playing unwilling host to the fiend who delights in tormenting him with nasty insults and constant attempts trick him into a contract. Yeah, Prosper will take his future without a side of eternal servitude, thanks.
Little does Prosper know, the malefactor's control over his body grows stronger with each passing night, and there's a lot Alastor isn't telling his dim-witted (but admittedly strong-willed) human host.

Now, if you know anything about me, it's that I'm a HUGE fan of Alexandra Bracken and her writing. She's such an incredible author and has a tendency of leaving me in awe with all the worlds she creates, in such diverse ways. So I am most certainly looking forward to this book!

Book Haul - September 2016

I keep meaning to update this blog with something impressive because I'd had every intention of doing so more regularly but everything kept feeling short. I'd like to apologize and just update it. I am not sure whether to use Showcase Sunday anymore or what Book Haul memes are going on, so I'm just settling for a book haul. Here's what I've been up to this month!

I've seen all over the internet some incredible subscription boxes and yes I have the worst kind of envy since shipping and taxes will be a nightmare to get here, so I'm wallowing in misery with regards to that. However, I recently found two subscription boxes that will be starting up in Egypt and I'm kind of excited about about them. Though I don't know if they'll be of the same quality as things I've seen online of OwlCrate and Fairyloot etc...

This is the first box (the other one hasn't arrived yet - a point deduction for lack of promptness for both really since this was meant to arrive in August.)

It's called BookBerries: Instagram
I'm not so fond of the design on the items in general, but I do like that they're trying. Hopefully they'll grow and their skills will improve.

I also obviously hit my favourite bookstore: Cherry Blossom Books
(Also I've been working on improving my instagram account. Check it out and let me know what you think!)
I bought:

Also, I've discovered "The Reading Bee's Shop" also another book merchandise online store here in Egypt (and let's say I'm more happy with it than the rest). I got this awesome mug with one of my favourite quotes from The Infernal Devices series. I think I like it too much to actually use it.

I also bought these beautifully designed bookmarks!

Review:

This book follows the aftermath of the first one with the death of one of the pilots, making for a very grief-stricken group. This story focuses on how Thor is dealing with this pain, and he starts thinking of his past and the one person he let go of to pursue his dreams.

I really loved this book more than the first one because honestly, I feel like Jordan had to make so many concessions while Noah made none and got everything he wanted. I can never be Jordan. I love Becca more because she knew what she wanted in life and wasn't willing to compromise that. But the story is about so much that I just loved it. It's about growth, and timing, and development, and forgiveness, and dealing with pain, and wow, so much more! I love how Chanel is creating all these new people forced to deal with the same circumstances but in different ways and that's such incredible for me, especially with her beautiful writing and well developed characters!

Rating: 5/5!
